Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Selenial collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile apps, and related services. By using Selenial, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

When you create an account or set up a profile, we may collect:

  • Email address and password (or credentials from an identity provider such as Google).
  • Name, username, bio/description, tags, and other profile details you provide.
  • Avatar and other media you upload (images, GIFs, short videos where available).
  • Links, social handles, captions, map pins (including coordinates), and other content you place on your public page.
  • Optional demographic details you choose to provide (for example age band or gender), when that feature is available.

If you sign in with Google, we receive information Google shares with us (such as email, name, and profile picture) according to your Google settings and our OAuth configuration.

Usage and analytics data

When people visit or interact with profiles and the Service, we may collect:

  • Interaction events (for example profile views, link clicks, media clicks, and social clicks).
  • A visitor identifier stored locally (for example a visitor hash in browser storage) and, where used, a like-related cookie for anonymous likes.
  • Technical data such as hashed IP address, user agent, referrer, device type, operating system, and browser.
  • Approximate location at country level derived from IP (for example via MaxMind GeoLite2).

Profile owners with access to analytics may see aggregated or derived insights (devices, countries, top blocks, etc.). We do not sell personal information.

Payment information

Premium subscriptions are processed on the web via Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment details. We receive subscription status and related billing metadata needed to provide Premium features; we do not store full card numbers on Selenial servers.

Communications

We may process emails related to account activation, password reset, email change, subscription confirmation, and support requests you send us.

Device and local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies on the web (for example authentication, locale preference, and visitor/like identifiers). The mobile app may store authentication tokens securely on device (for example via secure storage).

  • Provide, operate, and maintain accounts, public profiles, and the Service.
  • Display your public content, including using avatars in featured or discovery placements as described in our Terms of Service.

  • The public, for information you choose to publish on your profile (username, bio, avatar, links, maps, media, etc.).
  • Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.

Public profiles and featured placements may be visible without logging in.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and profile data while your account is active. Analytics and technical logs are kept as needed to provide the Service and for security. After an account deletion request is completed, we delete or anonymize personal data except where we must retain it for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
